"Business finance? It's in my bones."

Sonia Mann has an enviable track record in commercial finance.

Sonia, who lives in Leamington Spa, has more than 20 years' experience in business and commercial banking helping clients to grow their businesses and joined Together as a Corporate relationship director for the Midlands in 2019.

Also featuring on Sonia's CV are stints at Santander Asset Finance – where she was responsible for creating innovative ways to attract new business – and a long spell at RBS.

"Finance runs through me like a stick of rock", she says. "So to join a business that describes itself as having ambition in its DNA – well, I knew I'd fit right in."

In her role with Together, Sonia works across the region with company owners and high net-worth individuals who are looking to raise significant sums – whether it's to invest in their business or acquire property, including development projects and large-scale rental portfolios.

It's a market Together is particularly adept at serving, having delivered specialist secured lending for over four decades. Unlike the big-name banks, which often compete over personal customers and are therefore boxed in by regulations, Together gives its team unusual freedom to make pragmatic decisions based on 'common sense'.

Sonia explains: "We don’t have complicated lending policies, and you can build up a two-way relationship with us, like you used to have with your bank manager. In many respects, it's like how lending used to be.”

"We ask ourselves if we're happy with the property being used to secure the loan, and if we're happy with the person asking for it. If we are, let’s do business. Keeping it simple like this allows us to make really quick decisions, and that can make all the difference – time is money, after all."
