Raising funds Together for children's hospital charity

Our commercial CEO takes a tour of the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital to see first-hand how our charity donation will be used.

Earlier this month we presented Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity with a cheque for £26,000, after nine months of fundraising, to help the hospital with the refurbishment of its Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.

Marc Goldberg, our commercial CEO, presented the cheque to the charity’s corporate fundraising manager, Joel Oxberry, and took a tour of the hospital to understand how the funds will be used, and see first-hand the difference that the refurbishment is going to make.

Children who need a bone marrow transplant can spend a lot of time in isolation as they wait for an operation, and the makeover will include a new design theme, soft furnishings, computer games, toys, and lots of home comforts, to try and make the children a little more at ease during their time there.

The charity has previously carried out similar refurbishments to the radiology unit, to widespread acclaim, and we’re looking forward to visiting again next year to see the results.
