Food for thought with the Together Foodbank

We’re celebrating the results of the second Together Foodbank after generous colleagues donated over 1,000 items for Stockport Foodbank, totalling nearly 450kg and equivalent to 450 meals.

As part of our ‘Let’s get caring’ initiative to give back to our community, we work with Stockport Foodbank to help collect food to distribute to those in crisis, in and around the Stockport area.

Following a successful first collection in January, when over 800 items were donated here at our Cheadle headquarters, the ‘Together Foodbank’ has now become a quarterly event.

As well as launching food collection points throughout our head office to encourage colleagues to get involved, a team from Together also spent the afternoon volunteering with Stockport Foodbank at its Hazel Grove distribution centre, where they helped to organise food donations, ready to be placed into food parcels and transported to the seven distribution centres throughout the Stockport area.

Our HR director Kevin Fisher commented: “With a hope of exceeding the previous amount raised in January, we were delighted to present Stockport Foodbank with 1,030 donations which will go on to provide emergency food packages for those in need in the local area. It’s great to see so many colleagues getting involved and we’re delighted to be able to make such a positive contribution.”
