The Financial Conduct Authority has recently updated its guidance regarding payment holidays. This guidance requires us to continue to offer support to our customers who are impacted by the COVID19 pandemic. This may include offering a further payment holiday where it is appropriate to do so or we may discuss alternative options. To confirm, we are continuing to offer support in line with such guidance.
If you have an existing payment holiday with us, we will be writing to you before the end of your payment holiday about your new payments. We’d encourage you to wait for this letter before deciding if you need to speak to us. However if you already know that you require further support, please contact us.

We know that many of you will be worried about being affected financially as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19) and we want to assure you that Together remains committed to supporting our customers and our colleagues during these difficult times.

We will be using this page to let you know about the help and support available to you, and to provide you with the latest updates on our services in the coming days. In the meantime, we will continue to listen and adhere to the Government’s advice so that we remain prepared, informed and best-placed to look after our customers.

Payment holidays

Personal Finance customers

If you’re a Personal Finance customer and you have been financially impacted by Coronavirus, you can fill in our quick and easy form to apply for a payment holiday, or call us on 0161 333 7404.

Please do not cancel your direct debit until a payment holiday has been fully agreed and confirmed by us, as doing so will impact your payment history and potentially your credit score.

What other support is available to me?

The UK Government has created a number of support schemes to help businesses and workers through these unprecedented times:

Coronavirus Business Interpretation Loan Scheme

Small or medium sized business affected by Coronavirus may be able to access finance up to £5 million from the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS). This scheme is designed to support small and medium sized businesses with an annual turnover of up to £45 million to access loans, overdrafts, invoice finance and asset finance. Learn more here.

Self Employed Income Support Scheme

If you're self-employed or a member of a partnership in the UK, and you’ve lost income due to coronavirus, you might be able to access a grant through the Self Employed Income Support Scheme. This scheme will allow you to claim a taxable grant worth 80% of your trading profits up to a maximum of £2,500 a month. As of April 2020 it’s available for 3 months, but may be extended. Business Rates Holiday

Businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors in England will not have to pay business rates for the 2020 to 2021 tax year. You’re eligible for a Business Rates Holiday if your property is a:

  • Shop
  • Restaurant, café, bar or pub
  • Cinema or live music venue
  • Assembly or leisure property - for example, a sports club, a gym or a spa
  • Hospitality property - for example, a hotel, a guest house or self-catering accommodation

You do not need to take any action to request a Business Rates Holiday as your local council will apply the discount automatically. Learn more here.

Business Support Grant

Support for small businesses, and businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors also take the form of two grant funding schemes, the Small Business Grant Fund and the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund. The schemes will be delivered by Local Authorities – if you are eligible, your Local Authority will be in touch with you to arrange payment.

Under the Small Business Grant Fund (SBGF) all eligible businesses in England in receipt of either Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR) or Rural Rates Relief (RRR) in the business rates system will be eligible for a payment of £10,000.

Under the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant (RHLG) eligible businesses in England in receipt of the Expanded Retail Discount (which covers retail, hospitality and leisure) with a rateable value of less than £51,000 will be eligible for a cash grants of £10,000 or £25,000 per property.
