Notifying us of a bereavement

We're sorry for your loss.

We appreciate how hard it is to lose someone.

And when a loved one passes away, we understand you may have other things on your mind than sorting out their finances.

So, when you’re ready, we’re here to help. We’ll try to make things as straightforward as possible, even when nothing seems easy.

What you need to do

Give us a call as soon as you feel able on

• Personal customers: 0161 333 7404. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm.
• Commercial customers: 0161 333 7416. Lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm.

In time, we’ll ask you to send a certified copy of the death certificate, either by post or by sending us a scanned copy electronically, and potentially a couple of other documents. But we’ll explain the ins and outs of it over the phone.

Then, once we’ve received them, we’ll be in touch to agree what will happen with the account.
